March Stargazing

Jupiter & Mars

All month see the king of the planets & the red planet shining in the evening sky! Jupiter’s cloud bands look incredible through a telescope.

Micromoon

14th Mar, 13th Apr, 12th May

The moon will be the furthest distance from Earth on these dates.

Aurora Watch

March, April, May

Solar activity is increasing-there’s a chance of Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) visible in parts of WA!

April Stargazing

Lyrids Meteor Shower 22nd April (peak)

Lyrids Meteor Shower is active from 16th to 25th April and is known for its fast and bright meteors.

Look low to the north east horizon.

Planet Parade

25th April (from 5am)

There will be three planets visible
in a conjunction with the crescent Moon. The planets are Venus, Saturn and Mercury.

Noongar Season Bunuru

Western Australia’s Noongar
people follow six seasons. Bunuru, or ‘second summer,’ is the hottest, driest time.

Traditionally, people moved to the coast, relying on seafood and local plants for food.

Space News

Meet Roo-ver: Australia's Moon Rover!

9 Australia is building Roo-ver, a special robot that will explore the Moon.

Teaming up with NASA, Aussie experts are using top-notch tech to help it collect regolith (Moon soil) for future space missions.
