Moonrise From Kings Park.🌟

Join us for a unique evening as we witness the full Moon rising over the city.  AND it will also be a Supermoon, so the Moon will look even larger and more spectacular! 

Our lunar neighbour will be a captivating sight and appear so much larger and brighter as it rises.  See impact craters and cooled lava landforms on the moon as we focus our telescopes on different regions.  Plus see the stunning planet Saturn with the rings easily visible.  With our green laser pointer we will point out different constellations and more!

Even though we are in the city, the Moon will still look awesome through the telescopes, because it is so bright.  This is what we call, a ‘taster astronomy event’, and if you love it, you may be keen to join us at one of our country events to experience true dark skies!

Time: 7.30pm -9.30pm  (Moonrise at 7.55pm)

📍 Location: Frasers Avenue Roundabout (in front of Frasers Restaurant, Lawn area – road closed to traffic)

🌌 Stargazing & Astronomy Talk – Our expert Astro Guide will give a talk about the Moon, its surface features and various landing sites!  Plus be amazed with the laser beam tour of the  the night sky.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family-Friendly Event – Perfect for all ages to experience the magic of Moonrise over the city and the universe in a stunning outdoor setting.

What to Bring – Picnic blanket, warm clothes, torches, drinks & insect repellent.

Weather Notice – If bad weather is forecast, the event will be postponed to the next full moonrise or tickets can be refunded.
