Our Vollies

Star Tracks Astro Events has an amazing group of people who volunteer to come and help out at our stargazing events. They bring out their telescopes and have a heap of knowledge about the stars and really love to share this information with the general public.

Our vollies enjoy travelling out and about to various locations as part of our Star Tracks Astro Events team. Some of our destinations include Buckland Estate near Northam, Dryandra Woodland near Narrogin, Lower Chittering, Cervantes, Mundaring and even Mt Magnet for their Astro Rocks Festival. We have a heap of starry fun!

Our Telescopes

We pride ourselves on having the best telescope equipment to enable guests to see the most amazing views of the cosmos that we can possibly give them.

  •  The Celestron CPC 9.25” telescope is a spectacular instrument with very clear optics.  This ensures incredible detail is seen on all the objects we point the scope at.  Details such as dark cloud bands running across Jupiter or different coloured stars within the Jewel Box star cluster.
  • The 14″ Schmidt-Cassegrain – A very high-powered telescope perfect for far-off galaxies, gaseous nebula and able to reveal stunning details of the planets.  This telescope is one of our highest magnification scopes providing amazing cosmic views.
  • 6″ Refractor providing crisp images and a dark background, perfect for deep sky, wide-field views.
  • The 10” Sky-Watcher Dobsonian telescope is a precision engineered instrument that allows us to show faint treasures of the night sky such as nebulae, star clusters, galaxies and much more.  Our 10″ telescope has a focal length of 1200mm with a f/ratio of 4.7 making it a versatile telescope capable of displaying stunning views.
  • 8″ Celestron c8 Cassegrain Telescope – With a focal length of 2000mm, the c8 telescope can provide more magnification than most of our other scopes.  The 8″ aperture allows it to resolve faint objects, such as Nebula and Galaxies, beautiful star clusters, planets and more.
  • The 8” Sky-Watcher Dobsonian telescope is a precision engineered instrument that allows us to show faint treasures of the night sky such as nebulae, star clusters, galaxies and much more.  This is a versatile telescope, light and easy to move as required.  It is capable of displaying stunning views.
  • The Celestron 5″ Cassegrain is a compact telescope which packs a punch. With a focal length of 1250mm and f/ratio of 10, this instrument is ideal for easily moving about to counter any interruption to our sky views and provides lovely views of craters on the Moon and planets.

The above equipment is worth upwards of $15,000 and depending on the size of your group, we will bring some or all of these instruments to your venue and set them up, to provide a fantastic window onto the Universe!
