Fun, Learning & Immersive Experiences
Donna Vanzetti, CEO, has been working in the public space outreach industry for over 20 years, and now runs unique stargazing events all over the state.
Star Tracks Astro Events works closely with Carol Redford, CEO of Astrotourism WA, which assists regional shires to better utilize their world-class asset of clear, dark night skies for national and international tourists.
Carol and Donna first owned and operated the Gingin Space Observatory together for eight years and then moved into astro-tourism and space science documentary filming.Â
2023 Total Solar Eclipse Exmouth
Star Tracks Astro Events worked closely with Astrotourism WA and Perth Observatory, and together they coordinated 22 stargazing events across the entire state of Western Australia. This was done during the month of April to celebrate the Exmouth Total Solar Eclipse, on behalf of Tourism WA.
Aboriginal Planisphere Project
Donna assisted Astrotourism WA to develop and coordinated a special project funded by the Dept. of Regional Development Australia – Wheatbelt (RDAW), with regional shires and Aboriginal Elders, to produce four different Australian planispheres with Australian Indigenous star patterns rather than European constellations.Â
Filmed a WA Space Science Documentary
Donna was Executive Producer on a documentary that focused on the revolutionary Square Kilometre Array, the world’s biggest radio telescope being built here in WA and featured modern astronomy entwining with ancient Aboriginal astronomy and astro-tourism.Â
This program was produced in partnership with the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research based at the University of Western Australia. ‘The Hidden Universe’ went to air in January 2022 on the Seven Network and is now available on Seven Plus.Â
