Daytime Astronomy Incursions

Our team of enthusiastic and engaging Astronomy Guides make learning fun and take kids from our home planet, venturing through our Solar System, out to gigantic stars and far-off galaxies. Exploring the wonders of space!

Our Tours Include:

On The Big Screen

  • Explore the size of the universe, stars, and galaxies
  • Watch NASA’s rover land on Mars
  • Laugh along with “Toilets in Space!”

Hands-On Fun

  • Recreate the Solar System by becoming the planets
  • Guide a Mars Rover through the hoop for a safe landing challenge

Telescope Experience

  • Learn how a telescope works
  • See the Moon and its craters in daylight (Moon permitting)
  • Observe the Sun and its giant sunspots through safe solar filters
 

We will amaze and inspire students to engage in science and astronomy.

Our Daytime Astronomy Incursions are suitable for all students!

Our incursions begin with a fascinating indoor presentation about the interactions and mechanics of the Earth, Moon and Sun, as well as the Earth’s position in the Solar System.  We venture further afield past our own galaxy and explore the size of the Universe! Plus, updates on the latest Mars/Moon Space missions.

All of our guides have current Working With Children Cards and maintain professionalism whilst engaging with students and adults alike.

ACSSU019 – Observable changes occur in the sky and landscape

ACSSU048 – Earth’s rotation on its axis causes regular changes, including night and day

ACSSU078 – The Earth is part of a system of planets orbiting around a star (the Sun)

ACSSU115 – Predictable phenomena on Earth, including seasons and eclipses, are caused by the relative positions of the Sun, Earth and the Moon

Our Star Tracks Astronomy Guides are professional science communicators who have expert knowledge in astronomy, stargazing, telescopes and astrophotography. They are entertaining, engaging and explain astronomy so that anyone can understand easily. All guides hold a current Working With Children Card.
